Snow Policy
Cancellation of Services Due to Dangerous
Weather Conditions
It has been and will continue to be the policy of Good Shepherd Church never to cancel our Sunday liturgies regardless of the weather. Some of our hardy members can reach the church on foot, and we take seriously our Lord's promise that wherever two or three are gathered together in His Name, he will be there also.
The only change in that policy will be if the Governor of the Commonwealth declares an emergency and orders everyone off the streets. Another possibility, of course, might be that enough snow falls making it impossible to get to and into the exterior doors. In that event we will make every effort to have notification on local radio and television storm coverage. We have contacted abc27's Snow Watch, so watch for "Good Shepherd Luth. Paxtang" announcements there.
Wednesday services will be canceled if Central Dauphin School District cancels or postpones the beginning of classes. In previous years, we have relied on the "phone chain" to announce cancellation of services, and that resulted in some folks being missed. Please listen to your local radio or television school cancellation reports before setting off to church on a Wednesday morning.
